Halifax
One of the world's perfect places. With over 400 km of dramatic coastline, white
sand beaches, and one of the world's largest natural harbours, it's no wonder
life here revolves around the sea. But there's so much more.
From city streets to lazy afternoons by the ocean, it's all here in the Halifax
Regional Municipality.
Steeped in history, rich in culture, and refreshingly cosmopolitan. For over 250
years Halifax has been a world class place for business and pleasure. Premiere
meeting and convention facilities. Fine dining. Great music. Fashionable
boutiques. Whimsical craftshops. Cobblestone walkways.
The Halifax Regional Municipality is an international urban center with a rural
cachet. It bustles and thrives with all the energy and amenities of a capital
city but within minutes of the city's core, Halifax offers the small coastal
villages, country charm, and wilderness for which Nova Scotia is known.
It's so beautiful you won't want to leave. Start your tour of Nova Scotia and
Canada's Atlantic Coast with Halifax - Beautiful One Day... Perfect The Next.

On May 29, 1758, the largest fleet of ships ever to set sail from Halifax left
the harbour and headed north. This British armada, comprised of 150 ships
carrying over 27,000 men, was bound for the French Fortress of Louisbourg to lay
siege. The campaign lasted two months before British forces achieved their first
major victory of the Seven Years War, a victory that would change the world, and
Halifax forever.

Eastern Front Theatre presents Vimy
October 22, 2008 - November 09, 2008
Vimy by Vern Thiessen
Bravery. Honour. Sacrifice. Triumph. Legacy.
In 1917, the Battle of Vimy Ridge lasted four days and although Canadians
captured the strategically important ridge, the victory came at a terrible
price: 3,598 Canadians were killed and 7,000 wounded. Aided by a nurse from Nova
Scotia, four soldiers relive the terrible battle as they recuperate in a field
hospital.
Vimy is an award winning theatrical tour-de-force about a nation-defining
moment.
