THE WALK FRIENDLY ONTARIO PROGRAM
Kate Hall, Green Communities Canada

Participants in this webinar will hear about initiatives that use information and promotion to build capacity for cycling and walking. In BC’s Lower Mainland, a study identified ways to assess the health impacts of transportation decisions, and examined sources of transportation and health data to inform planning. In Manitoba the provincial government supports active transportation promotion, while the WALK Friendly Ontario program has motivated a growing number of communities to improve spaces and places to walk.
